Bauer's Virtual Festival Weekend
More than 100 hours of live music and DJ sets, across eight national stations, produced by four different production companies.
Awarded as part of the Coronavirus Support round, this project aims to fill the gap left by the cancellation of so many gigs, concerts, festivals and raves. A co-ordinated effort by Bauer’s national brands based in One Golden Square, the project was actually four separate Audio Content Fund bids, from four different suppliers.
KISS Fest – We Are Grape, for the KISS Network
Over Easter Weekend KISS FM, KISS Fresh and KISSTORY hosted KISS Fest, The World’s Biggest Radio Rave, on what is traditionally one of the biggest raving weekends of the year. KISS FM and KISSTORY featured big names from their different dance music worlds, while KISS Fresh gave an opportunity for listeners to submit their own mixes and take part alongside their favourite DJs. The project brought listeners and DJs together in a moment of celebration and escapism, with a total of 99 hours of DJ sets across the three stations.
Scala Radio Sessions Live – Listen, for Scala Radio
Making up for the birthday celebration that never happened, and the concerts Scala listeners can’t attend, a series of live performances were recorded remotely at the homes of some of Scala’s favourite artists, and turned into a special 3hr show, broadcast on Easter Saturday.
Kerrang! Radio’s Lockdown Sessions – Listen, for Kerrang! Radio
With the live scene having ground to a halt as a result of the Coronavirus crisis, Listen helped Kerrang! Radio listeners get their fix of live music while they were stuck at home, through a series of live performances recorded remotely and compiled for broadcast on Easter Saturday.

Jazz FM’s Virtual Jazz Festival – Somethin’ Else, for Jazz FM
A virtual festival of exclusive live performances from some of the UK and world’s biggest jazz stars – recorded in their homes and personal studios. At the end of a day in support of UK jazz musicians this will be an extraordinary three-hour virtual jazz festival to delight and cheer up jazz fans everywhere.
Front Room Festival – TBI Media, for Absolute Radio
Absolute Radio presents a multi-generational live music festival, with tracks throughout Easter Monday culminating in 3-hours of live music in one show. Over a dozen artists will perform sets recorded in their own homes, from acoustic sets in the kitchen, to full performances in home studios. Programming will feature ‘backstage’ interviews, with a focus on mental health and local heroes, to produce an event that will draw us all together despite being apart.
