The legendary hip-hop artist, and founding member of the Sugar Hill Gang, Master Gee, hosts a two part series tracing the influences of jazz on hip-hop today.

Master Gee will look at the influence of early scat on the rappers of the 80s and 90s, as well as talking to some of the jazz/hip-hop cross-over artists of today, who will illustrate the findings through live performance.

The series will appeal to jazz and hip-hop fans alike – and potentially bring in a new audience to the station – as well as exploring the history of jazz in a culturally significant and contemporary way
